This red-brick building was part of the canned food plant of the former Ujina Army Provisions Depot, and was renovated in 1984 and is now used as the Hiroshima City Museum. The exterior walls have been preserved almost exactly as they were in those days, making it a valuable building for understanding the techniques of Western-style brick architecture of the time.
The building of the Tsoho Branch Arsenal was also hit by the atomic bomb in 1945, and the two bent steel frames still remain inside the arsenal to this day, conveying the horror of the bombing.
