Fushimi Yagura Turret of Fukuyama Castle

This turret is said to have been relocated from a part of Fushimi Castle by Shogun Tokugawa Hidetada at the time of the construction of Fukuyama Castle in 1622. The first and second stories have the same plan with the same pillar arrangement, and the east-west direction is the ridge, on top of which is a watchtower-like third story with an irimoya-style roof. It is valuable as a typical example of castle architecture that preserves the early style of castle architecture, and has extremely high historical value as a concrete remnant of Fushimi Castle.
[National Important Cultural Property]
Open to the public inside the turret on November 3, Culture Day every year.
