Built in the center of Fukuyama City, this public facility complex has a library and various other functions. There are large light openings on two northeast sides, one on the first floor facing the water table, one on the second floor overlooking the park, and one on the fourth floor overlooking the city. Traditionally, libraries often have few openings or use blinds to block direct sunlight, but in this work, the eaves are extended wide to block sunlight and the openings are large to create an open space. Although the library is a public complex, it is integrated with the adjacent park and is an architectural work that is open to the public and functions on a daily basis.
