This building was built as the headquarters of Maruyama Shoten, a footwear manufacturer, and was completed in 1922. While authentic Western-style decorations can be seen on the parapet, pillars, and entrance porch, the interior has a unique blend of Japanese and Western styles, including an alcove, and various parts of the building show the high level of the craftsmen of the time. It is an excellent building representative of Matsunaga, which prospered in the production of geta and other footwear.
