Former South Substation of Chugoku Haiden(~2018)

- 3-17-7 Ujinamiyuki, Minami-ku, Hiroshima(Google Map)
This building was constructed as a wartime substation in Ujina, Hiroshima City, and although it was damaged by the atomic bomb, it played a role in the stable supply of electricity until 1994. Although the building is no longer in use, it has been renovated with pulleys, thick doors, and other features that reflect the atmosphere of the substation, and has been used as a restaurant and other facilities until today.
The exterior of the building is very simple, but the distinctive design of the eaves around the entrance is a work of art that makes it hard to believe that it was built during the war.
