Two of the concrete transport ships built during the war, when iron was in short supply, remain as breakwaters in Yasura and can be visited. These ships were designed mainly by the Maizuru Naval Arsenal and built by Shojiro Takechi, who ran a civil engineering company in Osaka, and others. They were equipped with engines and were self-propelled. While they are ships, they also offer a glimpse of building elements.
