It was built as part of the former Kure Naval Arsenal (a munitions factory of the former Navy). After the war, it was transformed into a factory of a company founded by engineers from the former Navy.
The surface is covered with red bricks, but the structure is steel-framed. Although the factory facility is focused on function, the exterior is decorated with bricks and granite, and the building is well designed and is a valuable reminder of the former naval arsenal's majesty and Kure's history.
