The Mochizuki family made their fortune in the shipping business, the source of Osakikamijima's prosperity, and this facility has been restored and reused as a museum. The scale of the building is extremely large, and there are many highlights such as the materials used (lumber and stone) and the craftsmanship of the workers.
It is not only a symbol of the island, but also a valuable place to learn about the history of Hiroshima's shipping industry.
