This facility, located in Ariki, Kamishikogen Town, is a former elementary school building that has been renovated and revitalized as a place for lodging and lifelong learning. The building is a blend of Japanese and Western styles, modeled after the quasi-Western architecture that prevailed during the Meiji period (1868-1912), and has a distinctive pagoda roof.
Although it has been renovated, the building retains much of its original appearance and has become a symbol of the community. The windowpanes remain as they were in those days, and it is said that they cannot be reproduced today.
