This elementary school building was constructed on reclaimed land in the western part of Hiroshima City. While keeping the building height low, the plan is highly open, with large openings and courtyard spaces. Another feature of the building is that the ceiling height and other elements are varied according to the location. The lawn on the school grounds and the trees located in various parts of the building are also considered to be in harmony with the school, offering a new type of learning and growing environment for children.
