This is a university library located in the southern part of Hiroshima City. The unusual cylindrical shape of the building evokes various associations in the viewer, such as a traditional musical instrument (tsutsumi), a flying saucer, or a birdcage. The braces visible on the exterior function as structural elements and provide a large interior space. The interior has a central atrium, creating an attractive space with light pouring down from the ceiling.
