These regulatios have ended.

 Due to the G7 Hiroshima Summit to be held from Friday, May 19 to Sunday, May 21, the following access restrictions will be in place during, before, and after the Summit.

 Those who are planning to visit Hiroshima for sightseeing, business, or other reasons during this period are requested to consider these circumstances and, if necessary, revise their travel plans or change the timing of their visit.

Restrictions on Access to Peace Memorial Park (Including the Atomic Bomb Dome) and Closure of Park Facilities

Period of restricted access and closure

 Thursday, May 18, 12:00 noon – End of events related to the Summit (scheduled for Sunday, May 21)

(3)Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park Rest House

(4)Hiroshima National Peace Memorial Hall for the Atomic Bomb Victims

Restrictions on Access to Miyajima and Closure of Facilities

Restrictions on access to Miyajima (current schedule)

 In principle, only those who have been issued a resident ID card by the government will be allowed to enter the island between 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 18 and 14:00 on Saturday, May 20.

Facilities to be closed

(1)Itsukushima Shrine (Itsukushima Shrine, Hokoku Shrine [Senjokaku], Treasure Hall)

 Period: Friday, May 19 – Saturday, May 20, around 14:00

(2)Miyajima Public Aquarium, Miyajima History and Folklore Museum, Miyajima Traditional Crafts Center

 Period: Friday, May 19 – Sunday, May 21

Other Facilities

 Access to other facilities where heads of state and other dignitaries visit may also be restricted to ensure their safety, allowing only those concerned to enter.

 

Traffic Restrictions

 During the following period, including the days of arrival and departure of the heads of state and other dignitaries, large-scale traffic restrictions will be enforced on expressways and public roads in accordance with their travel as follows. As a result, it will be difficult for personal and business vehicles, as well as public transportation such as buses and trains, to travel or operate as usual.

Period of traffic restrictions

 From Thursday, May 18 to Monday, May 22, during the time of travel of heads of state and other dignitaries*

 *Traffic restrictions will be enforced during the time of travel of heads of state and other dignitaries (approximately 15 minutes). The specific date, time, and route of traffic restrictions will be announced by the Hiroshima Prefectural Police on the day or the day before. Restrictions may last for a long period of time if the travel is continuous.

Bus (Route Bus, Highway Bus, Hiroshima Airport Limousine Bus) and Streetcar Operations

 Due to the effects of the traffic restrictions and traffic volume control measures, some bus and streetcar services in Hiroshima will operate on temporary schedules or be suspended. The information will be announced on the websites of public transportation operators, etc.

(1)Hiroshima Airport Limousine Bus

 Due to traffic restrictions on the Sanyo Expressway and around Hiroshima Airport, all limousine bus services between Hiroshima Airport and Hiroshima City/Kure/Saijo/Takehara/Fukuyama will be suspended.

 From any of these places to Hiroshima Airport and vice versa, please use trains on the JR Sanyo Main Line and the shuttle bus between Shiraichi Station and Hiroshima Airport.

Friday, May 19 Saturday/holiday schedule Line 3 will be suspended from the daytime to the last service.
Saturday, May 20 Saturday/holiday schedule Line 3 will operate only in the early morning hours and will be suspended after that.
Sunday, May 21 Saturday/holiday schedule Line 3 will operate only in the early morning hours and will be suspended after that.
Monday, May 22 Saturday/holiday schedule Line 3 will be suspended between Nisseki-byoin-mae and Hiroshima Port during the daytime.

*Line 3…Hiroden-nishi-hiroshima — Kamiya-cho-nishi — Hiroshima Port

*Due to traffic restrictions, significant delays, suspension of service, or change of destination may occur without notice for times and routes other than those listed above.
